Featured Article: “It is time to reassess our obsession with women’s fertility and the number 35.”
While egg quality and quantity does decline over time, new research has found that 35 is an arbitrary age, in terms of fertility. For women looking to become moms at or past 35, this is great news! The chance of conceiving may not be as bleak as it often painted. With new research, such as this, it is important to remember that the overall decline of fertility is unique to each woman’s body, lifestyle, environmental exposures, and more.

Ask Hannah: Your Questions about TTC After 35
Q. How long should we TTC before getting help after age 35?
After 6 months of trying - or not preventing* - it is important to reach out to your OBGYN for further testing. At age 40, this window decreases to 3 months.
*Often, we think of TTC as an intentional period of time trying to get pregnant. It is important to also include any time of being sexually active but not preventing pregnancy (i.e. not utilizing birth control, condoms, pull-out method, etc.) in the overall count.
