One of the most interesting things I think back to when originally embarking on our fertility journey was the repeated message that there was nothing I could do to improve my situation. (Have you been there, too? I’ve been talking about this a lot on Instagram…find me here.) It seemed pretty bleak, honestly. A checkup for some period problems ballooning into the doom-filled message that we would never get pregnant naturally. No hope, no options, no nothing.
Fast forward eight years, add in thousands of hours of research, countless strategic dietary and lifestyle shifts, targeted supplements, and four natural pregnancies (one loss), I can’t help but look back on that horrible experience and shake my head. I just want to go back, take my own hand, look myself in the eye, and say, “Dear one, there is so much you can do. So much is within your control.”
If this is the first time that you have heard that you can modify your diet and lifestyle to improve your fertility, let me tell you - you absolutely can. My story is not unique. Thousands upon thousands of women have received the message that they need medical intervention only to discover the power of dietary and lifestyle modifications.
Do these shifts singlehandedly work in every single situation? No, but they absolutely make a difference for everyone who will dedicate the time and energy to focus on them. There really are no downsides to this.
