Ask Hannah

Q. What is the best way to increase cervical fluid?
Drink water! Cervical fluid is 90% water. If you don’t like the taste, add a splash of 100% fruit juice.

Q. Blue dye or pink dye pregnancy tests?
Save yourself the heartache and go for the pink dye test! Blue dye tests are notorious for misleading evaporation lines because the gray evap line looks very similar to a faint positive.

Q. Can you recommend a good podcast?

Mastering Your Fertility and Fertility Friday are two podcasts that I enjoy and trust. My one note on podcasts (and blogs, youtube channels, IG accounts, etc.): Be cautious with who you go to for fertility information. There are a lot of content creators that have good intentions but share poor-quality information. Two red flags to look out for:

  1. Promoting a one-size-fits-all framework for overcoming fertility challenges. (Aside from a quality prenatal - we all need that!) Every woman’s body and health history is unique. We need to approach diet, lifestyle, and supplement interventions with bio-individuality in mind.

  2. Extreme statements without supporting information. Make sure whoever is speaking is providing real evidence for their recommendations.
