"A recurrent miscarriage workup should be completed if you have experienced two or more miscarriages which include positive home tests. Studies have shown that women who have had two or more miscarriages have a 40 percent chance of having another miscarriage. I encourage you to advocate that your healthcare provider order specific labs to rule out any possible causes. An additional test is one that collects tissue from the pregnancy loss and tests for chromosomal abnormalities. Following a miscarriage it is vital to monitor HCG levels with blood draws to ensure they are trending back down to less than five within an eight-week time period or less."
